And Jesus said to the woman, "Your faith has saved you; go in peace." Luke 7:50 (NLT)None of those who witnessed it understood! Why was she there? She wasn't invited. Why would Jesus allow her to touch Him.... Didn't Jesus know.... She was a SINNER!
This woman- she had heard the news.... Jesus was in town.... She came.... No, she was not invited.... But by her "faith".... She came.
She brought all that she had. Her most extravagant possession- a beautiful alabaster jar of perfume. In an act of worship and adoration... She knelt at the feet of Jesus... she washed His feet... with the fragrance, her tears and her hair... she offered it all to Him....her love.... her worship.... her adoration ....her heart.... her sins!
Jesus understood.... Yes, He knew.... He knew she was a sinner.... He knew her sins where many. But because of her faith and her heart felt worship- she was forgiven!

As I read this passage of scripture I was reminded of a song that my Mom used to sing when I was young:
You don't know what the Lord has done for me....
You don't know what the Lord has done for me....
You don't know, You weren't there, You don't know when and You don't know where.
You don't know what the Lord has done for me....I didn't know then the meaning of the song but now I can say I understand..... SINS FORGIVEN.... DEBT CANCELLED!!!!!!
We have to be willing to give our all in adoration and worship- at the feet of Jesus-for the sacrifice He made.... the price He paid to cancel our debt.... freeing us from our sins! We can't hold back because others don't understand.... they don't know the debt He cancelled for YOU! (ref. Luke 7:41-47)
Thank you Heavenly Father for Your Son. The sacrifice that He made that paid the debt that I could never repay. Thank You for the forgiveness of sin through the blood of Jesus. In Jesus' Name. AMEN!
