The Choice is Yours!

"Now listen! Today I am giving you a choice between life and death, between prosperity and disaster. For I command you this day to love the Lord your God and to keep His commands, decrees, and regulations by walking in His ways.If you do this, you will live and multiply, and the Lord your God will bless you and the land you are about to enter and occupy.... " Deuteronomy 30:15-16 (NLT)

In or out...open or close...stop or go...A or B... You get the picture? Our lives are filled with choices! But our most important decision is LIFE or DEATH!

This scripture gives the recipe for life with God. He commands us to love Him, keep His command and walk in His way. Difficult to understand? No! Mysterious? No! It is all laid out for us in His WORD. The only thing between us and LIFE is a choice---- Obey or Disobey!

Choosing to love...keep...and walk offers us living...multiplying...and blessing! But we must realize that choosing the opposite or flip side ends in DEATH! When we turn our hearts away from God by refusing to listen to His instruction and worshiping other gods- we are headed for certain death (v17-18). God desires to be first in our hearts thus satisfying all other areas of our lives (Matthew 6:33). No, this does not mean that because we choose to live a life of righteousness that it will always lead to earthly blessings just as leading a life of sin will not always lead to earthly suffering. But it does mean a secure life---He will be with us, always! (Deuteronomy 31:8)

"The Lord your God will delight in you if you obey His voice and keep the commands and decrees written in this book of Instruction, and if you turn to the Lord your God with all your soul." Deuteronomy 30:10

Our God is Holy...and He desires for us to walk Holy. We are called to live perfect lives. Lives free from sin...NO...lives honorable before God...YES. He gave His Son, who died for us. He sent His Holy Spirit which guides us into obedience and calls us to repent when we fail. Committing ourselves wholeheartedly to God is the key to LIFE! He has given us all we need to succeed and He longs to give us the life in the "land" He has for us! But only if we choose Life...by LOVING, WALKING and OBEYING!

Would your heart and soul say YES?

Heavenly Father thank you for Your instructions for LIFE with YOU! We pray that you will breath that life into us through your Holy Spirit, cleanse us from sin, and fill us with your love....Our Soul says YES! In Jesus' Name. AMEN!
