REPRESENT!So we are Christ's ambassadors; God is making His appeal through us. We speak for Christ when we plead, "Come back to God!" 2 Corinthians 5:20 (NLT)
On yesterday, we talked about how we are called by God as disciples to spread the Good News....today we will see the authority given to us through Christ to carry out our mission.
Our message...motto...mantra....COME BACK TO GOD! RECONCILIATION!
This message should permeate....penetrate our lives so and be such a part of who we are that it overflows into our interactions and conversations with others. We should be able to speak openly and honestly about the Good News of God. There should be no question about who we represent.
As we receive, believe and grow in the Good News of God, we are to pass it on to others....God never intended for us to keep private His saving grace. Through Jesus, we have been given authority. Are you walking in it?
Jesus came and told His disciples, "I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age."
Matthew 28:18-20 (NLT)
Jesus has defeated death by dying for our sins on the cross....He has left us with a message...So what are we to do with it...TELL THE WORLD!
Just as Paul mentored Timothy...as we grow, we are to help others.
You have heard me teach things that have been confirmed by many reliable witnesses. Now teach these truths to other trustworthy people who will be able to pass them on to others.
2 Timothy 2:2 (NLT)
So today, let us ask ourselves: Are we motivated to spread the Good News of God with the authority we have been given? Are we willing to aid in the spiritual growth and health of others? Or, Will we keep Gods truth to ourselves?
All of this is for your benefit. And as God's grace reaches more and more people, there will be great thanksgiving, and God will receive more and more glory.
2 Corinthians 4:15 (NLT)
As we commit ourselves to do what God has called us to do- spread the Good News of Jesus Christ- we must commit it all to Him in prayer. We have been given the authority and He will equip us to do His will. We have not been saved to and for ourselves....we have been saved for the greater work of God! Kingdom Building!
No one person alone can spread the gospel to the masses. God has prepared each of us to testify to a specific group...Pray that He will reveal those who He has prepared to hear the gospel from YOU!
For everything comes from Him and exist by His power and is intended for His glory. All glory to Him forever! AMEN!
