WHO WILL YOU TELL?Andrew, Simon Peter's brother, was one of the men who heard what John said and then followed Jesus. Andrew went to find his brother, Simon, and told him, "We have found the Messiah" (which means "Christ"). John 1:40-41 (NLT)
We have heard the Good News.....We believe the Good News....Now, who will we tell?
As Believers, we are called to be disciples of Jesus- called to spread the gospel-the Good News.
DISCIPLES: Someone who believes and helps to spread the doctrine or belief of another.
Simple definition....MAYBE....But this is no "simple" task! It is one to be taken seriously and with conviction!
But through Jesus Christ we have an living example! Jesus went out of His way to spread the Good News. He was not hindered by His "haters"! Though many rejected Him, He knew His mission--and nothing or no one could stop Him!
Then Jesus told them, "A prophet is honored everywhere except in his own hometown and among his relatives and his own family." And because of their unbelief, He couldn't do any miracles among them except to place His hands on a few sick people and heal them. And He was amazed at their unbelief.
Mark 6:4-6 (NLT)
"For the Son of Man came to seek and save those who are lost."
Luke 19:10 (NLT)
So who will YOU tell? Jesus is looking for followers....disciples....those who will join in the work of Kingdom Building by spreading the Good News!
He said to His disciples, "The harvest is great, but the workers are few. So pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest; ask Him to send more workers into His fields." Matthew 9:37-38 (NLT)
So.....let's ask ourselves: What will we do with Jesus' message of Salvation and Love....the Good News....will we believe it in our hearts....will we share it with others?
For I am not ashamed of this Good News about Christ. It is the power of God at work, saving everyone who believes-the Jew first and also the Gentile. This Good News tells us how God makes us right in His sight. This is accomplished from start to finish by faith. As the Scripture says, "It is through faith that a righteous person has life." Romans 1:16-17 (NLT)
Heavenly Father, as Jesus saw the need to pray for workers in the field- Let us realize the need to tell of Your Good News and pray that others will join in the work of building up Your kingdom. In Jesus' Name. AMEN!
