SPREADING THE WORD! Part 4

THE TRUTH!

"Heaven and earth will disappear, but My words will never disappear." Matthew 24:35 (NLT)

John 1 tells us that The Word existed even before creation...the Word was with God... the Word was God. He sent His Son, Jesus Christ into the world as the Word in human form to fulfill prophecies, show love and faithfulness and give glory to God. Jesus came to be a living example of the Word. (ref. John 1:1-14 NLT)

This is the final post of our "Spreading the Word" series. It is very important because it speaks of our responsibility as we share the Good News of God.

God's Word is forever....

Can you imagine passing a story down from generation to generation? Over the years, things will get added and taking away.....the story will probably get distorted and the original version lost! That is why we are to take seriously our responsibility of sharing God's Word with others, truthfully.

Jesus left us a lasting example. Although He was the Word in the flesh, He only spoke of what His Father taught to Him.....
"The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, for He has anointed Me to bring Good News to the poor. He has sent Me to proclaim that captives will be released, that the blind will see, and the oppressed will be set free, and that the time of the Lord's favor has come." Luke 4:18-19 (NLT)

So Jesus said, "When you have lifted up the Son of Man on the cross, then you will understand that I AM He. I do nothing on My own but say only what the Father taught Me ." John 8:28 (NLT)

God's Word is powerful....

We have many opportunities to share the Word with others. As Christians, we must be prepared to speak accurately of God and His Word- even in some unfavorable situations- knowing that God's Word is powerful and specific and able to change hearts.
Work hard so you can present yourself to God and receive approval. Be a good worker, one who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly explains the word of truth. 2 Timothy 2:15 (NLT)

Preach the word of God. Be prepared, whether the time is favorable or not. Patiently correct, rebuke, and encourage our people with good teaching.
2 Timothy 4:2 (NLT)

For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposed our innermost thoughts and desires. Hebrews 4:12 (NLT)

God's Word is perfect...

It brings order to everything. We only need to speak it in truth and God will do the rest!
Every word of God proves true. He is a shield to all who come to Him for protection. Do not add to His words, or He may rebuke you and expose you as a liar. Proverbs 30:5-6 (NLT)

All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. God uses it to prepare and equip His people to do every good work. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 (NLT)

It is the same with My word. I send it out, and it always produces fruit. It will accomplish all I want it to and it will prosper everywhere I send it.
Isaiah 55:11 (NLT)

Heavenly Father, we honor Your Word. Help us to represent you truthfully as we walk with the authority given to us by Jesus Christ to share the Good News. Lord, we thank you that as we go, you prepare the way! In Jesus' Name. AMEN!
But how can they call on Him to save them unless they believe in Him? And how can they believe in Him if they have never heard about Him? And how can they hear about Him unless someone tells them? And how will anyone go and tell them without being sent? That is why the Scripture says, "How beautiful are the feet of messengers who bring good news!" Romans 10:14-15 (NLT)
